VSO Sri Lanka: review of security management documentation and development of good practice documentation and risk management systems (January 2008)

World University Service Sri Lanka: Security Audit and Risk Assessment of all regional offices and associated programmes. Led onto a documentation development and training component (November 2007 – to present)

RedR Sri Lanka: lead trainer on a series of security trainings, including two security management workshops, one personal security course and two local language driver training courses in Colombo and Kandy (October – November 2007)

GTZ Sri Lanka: security risk assessment and management audit, that led onto long term risk management assistance and the development of a new national risk management system (January – September 2007)

DFID & GTZ Bangladesh: separate contracts to undertake a major risk assessments for both organisations, completed in November 2006.

DFID-GTZ Nepal: an evaluation of the GTZ-DFID Nepal Risk Management Office, a consultancy which included a review of the current context, products and services of the RMO, as well as a consideration of 'Conflict Sensitive' programming.

HMS Collingwood, Royal Naval Staff College: Lecture series on humanitarian intervention and the place of the military in the humanitarian landscape.

Joint Services Command Staff College, Shrivenham: Humanitarian advisors to syndicates working on Peace Support Exercises.

Landmine Action Anti-Vehicle Mine Global Study: global study, funded by Dutch and Norwegian governments, to develop an evidence base for risk management on the anti-vehicle mine threat. Involves field-work in Sudan (Oct 2005), Angola (Jan 2006) and Afghanistan (July 2006). Report will also provide policy level advice to the Humanitarian Mine Action community, and increase support for more effective regulatory arrangements than under the current CCW process.

DFID/Merlin, Kabul & London: development and delivery of bespoke staff level security training course for national and expatriate staff for the DFID country office in Afghanistan (included Guards & Drivers training) as well as training for UK based staff in London office.

Merlin, London: mainstreaming security management and cultures consultancy. Production of a bespoke cultural management assessment tool, findings and concrete recommendations.

Mercy Corps: design and documentation of security training for national focal point security staff from MCs worldwide operations. Includes development of video and other forms of documentation and production of online learning resources.

RedR-IHE Security Programme (USAID/DFID Funded): advising on the development of concepts for security mainstreaming and consulting. Publication of articles on mainstreaming and culture change issues in the Security Quarterly Review publication (issues 1 & 2).

Risk analysis and assessment of security management training needs in Nepal and Aceh, (Jan and March 2005).

Inter-Agency Security Management Workshops in Nepal (2 workshops, February 2005) and Aceh Indonesia (June 2005).
