Ad Idem’s staff have worked as consultants on security issues within humanitarian aid agencies since 1996.

Our work has grown out of providing training in ‘NGO security concepts’ and managerial approaches developed by the US-based ‘Interaction Security Training Project’ (1997-8). It now includes risk assessments, field-specific or agency-wide security reviews, bespoke agency-based training and consultancies, major international research projects, as well as concept and management tool development projects. We also select and screen security staff for agencies.

Our consultants have worked – and continue to work - worldwide, including the current security hot spots of Afghanistan and Iraq in the last 24 months.

In recent years, Ad Idem consultants worked in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Angola, Sudan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Eritrea.
